A week filled with new experiences

~trust-worthy enough~

Based on the title alone, you should already know that this post is about things that I haven’t done before. So let’s start this never before read post.

150110-160110

I went for work. OMG! Abdullah going to work? That must be a real shocker for some of you readers. Haha. This was a onetime experience. I took a job as a waiter at Royal Bintang. Yes yes, this is where prom was held. I’ll write in full detail what happened during my 16 hours as a waiter. I went there with Saiful, Azhar and Firdaus. Saiful drove us.
~making our way downtown~
As we arrived there, tones of people were waiting at the back door. I heard that they only wanted 180 people and that made me worry that I would get the job. After I made a punch card (first time I had one), we all went to a small room. Imagine that 200+ in one room. Packed like tuna in a can. After waiting for two hours, they made an announcement that they only needed 130 people. OMG, that really made me worry, again. They first sort out the ones that didn’t fit qualification. Those had long hair, wrong shoes, wrong pants, e.t.c. And not to forget about facial hair. Why did wrote facial hair in a sentence of its own? It’s because I had a beard at that time. Uhoh’. To avoid being sorted out, I did the Sasuke pose. It worked.
*first ever puch card~

I got a secuirity pass.

~the tiny room with tones of people~

The bad news weren’t over, they had to only pick 100. Another 30 to go. Maybe Lady Luck was on my side because I was the 28th person to be selected. Among my friends that were selected were Kasyi, Bato, Ro, Abe, Zedd, Farhin and others. Sorry if I didn’t remember about you. My row made our way to the ballroom. As soon as all the tables had its own waiter, we were asked to pick up the menu and remember all that they were serving that night in 5 minutes. It was like studying for SPM all over again. People give you lemons, you make lemonade. People give you a camera, you take pictures. Du’oh!

*i dont have to memories everything if you have a camera. haha

remember where it goes.

the briefing.

my team go team go!

look at the deco', it's nice.

The program started at 7.45pm. Everyone went ‘backstage’ and was given last minutes briefing. We first took ice water and like any good waiter, the goblet should never be empty. I’m good. Hehe. Around 8.45 pm, the guest of honour came. As the ‘guest’ was walking in, the waiters went back stage and took the food.

one experienced waiter~ Safwan Faiz.

the part-timers.

It was a Chinese course. So, many type of courses were served. When they asked what was the course served, I answered as so:

Boneless Chicken with Chef Speciality Sauce : Ayam Ngan Sos.
Siew Pak Choy with Belacan Sauce : Sayur ngan Belacan
Seafood Fried Rice : Nasi ngan udang.

the great people I served.

The people I served asked me plenty of times to join them, but I couldn’t. I was usually the one getting served, not the one serving. What goes around comes around, right?
the pit-stop for the waiters.

The program ended at 11 p.m. I finally got to know what happened after everyone went back, when I was younger, I thought that the ballroom would magically clean itself, so, I was wrong. Hurm.. we all then cleaned up. At 12a.m, we finished up and gathered in the same ‘tuna room’ for the pay! Yeah! PAY-UP! Just as I was about to get my pay, my friends suddenly asked to join them to work OT! At first I thought that it was until 2.00 am, so what the heck. Let’s do this!

this is when the magic happens.

The two dozen pack of guys went back to the ballroom and reset the whole thing over again. We worked and worked that night. After some time, I looked back at the watch and realized that it was already 4am! Too much words, so I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
breakfest at 2.am.

I broke a few. sorry :p

I wiped all these, for 7 tables.

this final result, finished at 8.am.
At 8.a.m, we were finally finished and celebrated with a glass of coke. And that was it after 16-18 hours of working. Went back together with Zedd and joined my parents for breakfast. Got home and I slept all through the day and woke up for lunch and at 5 p.m. to go to the field. Try to guess what I did there?

a tired Zedd.

I went for my 6th hour of driving class. As usual, it was boring as ever. Waiting to finish the final 8 hours and to get my licence in hand would be a dream comes true.

*the track i didn't like.

This day was mostly one of the days where I did all my work, laundry, dishes, you name it, I did it. To bored to watch TV, to bored to even go online, I made the decision to go to the movies since a dear friend of mine keeps on reminding me that the 21st was the day ‘the tooth fairy’ and ‘legion’ came out. What to watch, what to watch? Because my friend wanted to watch Legion, so I decided to watch ‘the tooth fairy’. As I was making my way to the bus stop, an uncle riding a motorcycle asked me if I wanted a lift, so, tired and the day was hot like being in an oven,I took the offer. Thank you for the owner of the biker with the number plate BKJ 7310. May your deeds be replied. For those who lived in Seremban and know where MBO is, you wouldn’t be surprised that I watched the movie alone. Alone, as in alone alone. My overall comment about the movie was that it was a total snore fest, not worth the rm8 I paid and one more thing is to never buy the popcorn there. It’s pale and never ever sweet.

This might be shocking news for a few, but for those close enough might have known that I entered a Rugby 7-side match. This was actually to find players for the coming SUKMA. Team ‘TEPIAN’ *unofficial name, went up against some of the best players in NSDK. We were all knew in this team so as expected we lost some games but we had a draw. A DRAW! That was a big WOHOO for a team that was formed in 2 weeks. I didn’t know what I played as but I was the one who place the ball in a scrum, what position is that? If you know, tell me. :p

The rugby I am playing for finally started to go serious, so we did a few fitness rounds. I really pushed me to the limit! If you compare what I did with 10 rounds around the field, the 10 rounds was nothing. This is Libau’s drawings about the fitness rounds.

That’s all for know. For those whom are my common readers, I’m so sorry for not updating as often as I usually do. I’m busy with rugby and I’m now training for the coming marathon in PURTAJAYA! That will be the main topic for the next post, for God knows when. Till the marathon is over, this is me saying ‘adios amigos’!

Apply Rugby in life and you will succeed,
ABDULLAH MOHD BADAWI.
